"After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, ‘I thirst!’ Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit." John 19:28-30
Monroe Presbyterian Church is a fellowship of Christian believers and their children assembled together before the cross of Jesus Christ to worship the living God in faith, to daily receive the mercy granted us in His Son, and by that grace to bear the fruit of our Savior’s love in the world.
As a Reformed Church, we believe that the Bible alone is the Word of God, and as such it is our only guide in what we are to believe and how we are to live before God.
And as it has been revealed to us in the Bible, so we do profess and proclaim that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He has come and died on the cross to save us from our sins, and that He has risen from the grave again in glory to give us eternal life. In short, our message at Monroe Presbyterian Church is the message of the Gospel, and this message is for us and all men the greatest of news, a most precious Light of hope from heaven without which we have no hope in the world.
This website is designed to give you an overview of our beliefs and practices as a church, but we encourage you to come and visit us soon, in order that you might more fully understand the nature of our worship and life together as the redeemed people of the Lord Jesus Christ.
