What is the central focus of the ministry at Monroe Presbyterian Church?

At Monroe Presbyterian church, the central focus of our ministry is the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The good news of God’s redeeming mercy to us in His Son is the beginning and end of all our efforts.  We understand that it is by the Gospel that God calls His elect people from death to life, and it is by that same Gospel that He strengthens and sustains them in faith as they wage spiritual warfare and progress toward glory.

What is the pastoral ministry of Monroe Presbyterian Church?

As a Presbyterian Church, our pastoral ministry is carried out under the direction of men who serve in the office of elder.  As a shepherd feeds and protects the sheep under his care, so the elders of the church are ordained to provide spiritual nourishment and protection for the Christian flock.  The elders of the church are its leaders and teachers, helping the people of God to grow in knowledge and holiness, and equipping them to use their spiritual gifts to the glory of Christ.

What is the mercy ministry of Monroe Presbyterian Church?

Our mercy ministry is carried out under the direction of men who serve in the office of deacon.  Deacons are particularly appointed to lead the congregation in caring for the physical needs of its members, but they also seek opportunities to relieve suffering outside the church, making Christ’s mercy visible in the kindness that they show to others in His name.

What is the congregational ministry of Monroe Presbyterian Church?

The people of Monroe Presbyterian Church are encouraged to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and further the proclamation of the Gospel in all areas of life.  Every lawful calling is a Christian ministry, and every relationship is an opportunity to lead others to Jesus.  Our goal at Monroe Presbyterian Church is to see our people so deeply affected by the love of God in Christ and so thoroughly instructed in the Word, that they will, by word and by deed, shine as lights in the world in such away that others will see their good works and glorify their God and Savior.
